Commitment to Justice

I believe that when everyone has a seat at the table, our ideas, our work product and our world are elevated.

Unlearning racism is a lifelong pursuit. I am committed to justice, equity and inclusion and take my responsibility as a leader, mother and friend seriously.

In addition to learning from BIPOC leaders and writers, supporting BIPOC business owners, and amplifying the voices of the many brilliant and talented BIPOC creatives and thinkers in my own community, I am committed to the following:

  1. Economic equity: I believe in fair pay. For my industry, fair pay isn’t a given, so it feels important to include it here. We all should be doing this, but some of us aren’t.

  2. Story Telling: Our commercial work and personal projects feature more than 50% BIPOC. We support and push our clients to use our lens to diversify theirs.

  3. Sliding Scale: I offer free and sliding scale support and services with full scholarship available for BIPOC business builders.

  4. Leveraging Opportunity: of the 100+ individuals that were brought onto a set this year, 70% were BIPOC.

  5. Redistributing Wealth: Over the past 6 years, I have helped advocate for and allocate more than 5million donor dollars. I also make regular contributions to individuals and organizations that directly serve marginalized people.

  6. Using Power: As a board member of my child’s school, I work to build a more just future, supporting a principal and staff dedicated to intentional diversity, establishing peace and connecting marginalized communities with high quality education.

I’m committed to learning. I’m committed to trying and getting wrong, I’m committed to apologizing and trying to do better.

With gratitude to the people I turn to to help me hold myself accountable.
